Karele is an equine community and registered charity in the heart of East Lothian. Over the years, we have grown into an incredible team of 25 people from ages 13 to 60.
Our love of horses unites us.
At the heart of our story are the Fergusons. Their lifelong passion for horses, and a commitment to helping others, was the inspiration for Karele. Their hard work and dedication have made Karele into the community it is today.
The Stable Club
Our young volunteers created the Stable Club as a group to help new clients and each other. Aged between 13-17, the Stable Club members are all previous service users who want to provide the life-changing opportunities that Karele offers. Click the link below to learn more about our outreach work.
The Saddle Club
We encourage everyone at Karele to join our volunteer community. Through our volunteers continued hard work and dedication, Karele has become a setting for individuals to relax and explore their love for the equine world. Fancy helping out at Karele?
The Stable Club raised funds for The Howf - the heart of Karele. The Howf (a gathering place in Scots) is the unique place where we all come together to plan, fundraise, or just have a cup of tea.
